2006 Alabama Closed Team
Tournament and Hardbat
Championship

Tournament begins 9:00 a.m. sharp.
Team captains must register by 8:30 a.m. |
Cost: |
$80.00 per team.
$10.00 for the hardbat tournament. |
Players: |
Maximum teams = 20 on a first to
register/pay basis. |
Format: |
Based on a
field of 20 teams, the top 12 rated teams will play in the
upper tier and the bottom eight will play in the lower tier.
Upper tier advances the top 2 teams from each RR group to
championship. The remaining teams will advance to Class A.
Lower tier
advances top 2 teams from each RR group to Class B. The
remaining teams will advance to Class C.
The
championship winning team is declared the 2006 Alabama team
champion.
Each team
will play a MINIMUM of two singles and one doubles match
against opposing teams in their brackets. A team must win 3
matches to win the team match in the best-of-five format.
HARDBAT SINGLES:
Small round robin groups. All players must play with hardbat
rackets (pips out, no sponge). The event winner will be
declared the 2006 Alabama hardbat singles champion. |
Practice: |
The playing site will be open for practice 6-9 p.m. Friday,
May 19 and at 8 a.m. Saturday. |
Deadline: |
Postmarked by May 13, 2006. Entry fees must accompany entry
form. Phone and late team entries will be charged a $10 fee. |
Equipment: |
Only USATT approved equipment will be used. Butterfly and
Stiga tables, white Butterfly (40 mm) compliments of
BumperNets. Please thank Homer Brown for his
continued dedication and support for table tennis in
Alabama. BumperNets is

The tournament staff will supply lunch to all players.

Upper tier team champion
(based on 12 teams in division): $448. 2nd place:
$224.
Class A: 1st:
place; Trophies: 2nd: Trophies
Lower tier team champion
(based on 8 teams in Class B). $299. 2nd place:
$149.
Class C: 1st
Trophies; 2nd place: Trophies
Hardbat singles: 1st place: Half of total of
hardbat entry fees. 2nd place: One-fourth of
entry fees.
NOTE: The directors reserve the right to modify any event
(due to insufficient entries, etc.).

USATT
approved red & black.
CLOTHING:
The USATT Dress Code applies. Shirts and shorts may not be
white, distracting to an opponent or offensive.
RULES:
The Laws of Table Tennis by the ITTF and all USATT
regulations will be enforced.
